meet the Pack
Brad Howell + Dex
Brad is the Owner and Founder of this whole shebang. He oversees the ins and outs of Red Beard operations and makes sure everything is running smoothly. With 9 years of dog training experience he has a fantastic read on dogs AND humans. He has a special way of teaching clients how to train their dog, calling them out for their shit, and making them belly laugh all in the same breath.
Brad opened Red Beard in 2014 and has built an inclusive and bad ass dog training community whose reputation speaks for itself. When he’s not training dogs he enjoys playing/watching baseball and spending time in the woods with Dexy.
Noel Hart
Red Beard had the good fortune of finding Noel not long after she moved to Greensboro from Charlotte. Noel is a small business veteran who has years of managerial experience at both a dog kennel and coffee shop.
Harty’s main gig is running our enrichment program, but she can handle anything we throw at her! Noel has a cat named Theo, a fresh kitty named Merlot, cool house plants and a basement full of cookies!
Amanda McElveen + Ava
Amanda and Ava joined the pack this past year as kennel tech, and has done such a phenomenal job, we have decided to expand her role here at Red Beard. She is calm and kind with with dogs, and handles even the rowdiest of pups in stride. Her and her dog Ava have an arsenal of tricks in their back pocket, and used to do lure coursing back when she was in her prime! Amanda is soft spoken in person, but has a way with the pups in our enrichment program. When she’s not at Red Beard you can find her chilling with Ava and her 2 cats, or finding a bluegrass music festival to scope out.
Jessica Swann + Finn
Once a client, now our office manager! Jessica adds the much needed type A to our sometimes chaotic and very busy small biz. Because Jess has been through the training process first hand, she is now able to flawlessly guide clients through the scheduling process and help answer any questions. She is kind, organized, and always two steps ahead of us.
Jess enjoys spending her limited free time with her husband Tyler and their beautiful daughters Maren and Nora.
Dexter
Employee of the month… going on 8 years. I mean move over and give someone else the spotlight Dex! But for real this guy always give us his all, is calm patient and kind. He gives a fantastic correction that is always somehow just enough but never too much. He’s helped so many dogs gain confidence, learn how to play, and is just a cool ass dude. Dex, you make our jobs easier, lives brighter, and anyone is lucky to know you. When he’s not at work you can find him napping in that sunny patch or walking walls and climbing fallen trees with his favorite human Brad.
Gilly
She’s never gonna be the employee of the month… and she’s perfectly okay with that. She is a high drive snuggly bully who brings a lot of joy.. and pain if you don’t get out of the way of that tail. She’s not helper dog that Dex is, mostly because she’s got better things to do… like scavenge for a stray kibble she’s probably allergic to or bring a random object in hopes for a snack. Her neutrality towards dogs and reliable obedience makes her a fantastic helper dog in her own way. When she isn’t at work, you can find her curled up with her mom or giving a good name to bully breeds at all the local agility trials.
